2006 Custom Home Green Builder of the Year Award
from the National Association of Home Builders and the Green Building Conference.
2006 Gold Energy Value Housing Award
from the National Association of Home Builders Research Center and the US Department of Energy.
2003 Silver Energy Value Housing Award
from the National Association of Home Builders in partnership with the United States Department of Energy. SunTerra Homes Inc. earned a Silver Award in the Cold Climate Custom Home category of the EVHA, which honors builders nationwide who voluntarily integrate energy and resource efficiency into the design, construction and marketing of new houses.
It is sponsored by the National Association of Home Builders Research Center, National Renewable Energy Laboratory and the United States Department of Energy.
Company president and home designer Jim Chauncey said the award is welcome recognition of the work SunTerra has accomplished for the past 26 years.
National Energy Award
Energy efficient design concepts won SunTerra the 1986 national award for energy innovation from the US Department of Energy. The SunTerra system was chosen because it offers a very high level of cost effective energy savings along with superior living comfort.
DOE judges recognized the SunTerra home because it incorporates features such as special design and site orientation to control indoor temperature. The home also incorporates innovative insulation value, as well as energy efficient heating, cooling, lighting and appliances.
Jim Chauncey accepts the National Energy Award in Washington, DC from Donna R. Fitzpatrick, Assistant Secretary of Conservation and Renewable Energy, US Department of Energy.

2006 Central Oregon Tour of Homes Green Award
for the best home under $600,000 demonstrating energy efficiency and green building features. Central Oregon Home Builder's Association presented over 60 homes on tour for public display.
